Military Training

Your service and life experience could translate into college credits that will accelerate your degree completion. You can transfer up to 99 approved credits, including military and prior learning credits, toward your Bachelor's degree. Talk with a Military Enrollment Advisor about maximizing credits from AARTS, SMART, CCAF, and CGI transcripts. As a benefit to you, Ashford University will facilitate the request of all your prior college and military transcripts on your behalf.

Transferring from Community College

You can finish your education and earn your degree online from Ashford University thanks to the innovative 3+1 partnership. Put community college credits to work at Ashford! Working adults can transfer up to 90 community college credits to Ashford, including AAS credits, which means all your past hard work will not be wasted. An AA degree may automatically fulfill general education requirements at Ashford. Lower division work may be equivalent to Ashford's upper division courses, so you won't have to repeat courses you have already taken.*

* Lower division courses which are transferred for upper division Ashford courses do not count toward the 30 upper division credits required for graduation.

The transferability of credits is subject to Ashford University transfer credit policies, and requires the submission of official transcripts. The official transcripts will be evaluated to determine the credits that will officially apply toward an Ashford University degree program.

Ashford University currently has articulation agreements with more than 30 community colleges in eight states. Among these many community colleges, you can easily transfer to Ashford from:

• Community College of the Air Force
• Central Texas College
• Rio Salado College
• and many more!

If you don’t see your community college listed above, ask your Military Enrollment Advisor about transferring your community college credits to Ashford.

National Testing Programs

You can earn credit for prior knowledge through various national testing programs such as: CLEP, DANTES, Berlitz, etc. You may be eligible for up to 75 credits that Ashford University will accept. Use these credits to satisfy requirements in a Bachelor's degree program
